Fuck, I think I gotta go to the hospital...

This is Max. He's our bass player. Two weeks ago he dislocated the shit out of his shoulder. He wasn't shredding vert. Instead he was defending the scene. Nuff said. All you really have to know is that Max rules and you shouldn't ever fuck with his friends.

Max is going in for surgery this week and will be out of commission for awhile. That means Hunting Party, Yadokai, Face The Rail, and Caged Animal are all on hiatus until he's healed up and ready to play again. That also means we won't be able to play with CREEM and Urban Blight at the Hemlock on 7/27 in San Francisco. Fucking bummer. We'll all be at the show (and you should too) because it's going to rule regardless.

Ok, that's the bad news. Here's the good news:

1) We WILL be going into the studio later this month to record a TON of new shit. 2 songs will be for the 7" we're doing with Iron Lung Records as part of their Singles Series. We know which songs they will be and they're fucking killer. At least I think so. 1 song will be for a locals-only comp being assembled right now by somebody who's in a bunch of bands that you know and love. I don't know what I'm allowed to say publicly yet so I'll just say that every band that has been asked to participate rips so fucking hard (no filler bands or favors-to-friends type stuff). I'm honored that we've been asked to be on this release. Finally we'll be putting some of the remaining songs on a 12" EP. I've been emailing with a great fucking label that has expressed some interest in putting it out. Again I'm not going to go into too much detail until more coalesces. More on that later...

2) PRANK FEST IV. Years ago Ken Sanderson handed Prank Fest over to Timmy Hefner who in turn morphed into Chaos In Tejas. I go to Chaos every year and I love it. Chaos, though, has become an entirely different beast than the shit Ken started in Atlanta in the 90's. Well Ken's ready to do it again but this time right hear in the Bay Area. So far the line-up is pretty insane and if all goes well it will stay that way. As of right now we're slotted to play with Citizen's Arrest. I saw them at Chaos in '11 and they killed it.

Plus several more shows to come. Ken says after the Parkside show there will be a two room, ten band show at the Oakland Metro. These shows are going to be nuts. I'll update info here as Ken leaks it.

Finally, we're toying with the idea of an east coast tour this fall depending on how Max's recovery goes. Let us know if you want us to come to your town. - Boo Boo

Updates...

HESITATION WOUND 7": We've sent everything for the 7" to Hesitation Wound Recs and now we wait. We hope to have them for tour; maybe a tour edition. Who knows?

IRON LUNG 7": Our friends over at Iron Lung Records have invited us to record a 7" as part of their unofficial "2-song single" series. I think ours will be #9 (if the No Statik one was #8) We will be recording with Greg Wilkinson at Ear Hammer Studio again but in keeping with the tradition of the series we'll be doing things a little differently. That's all I can say about the recording now. We're hoping to have the record out this spring.
In the meantime we will have an unreleased track on IRON LUNG MIXTAPE VOL. II. This weekend Jensen told me some of the bands that are going to be on the next tape. Holy shit it's going to rip.

Recording

This weekend we're going into Ear Hammer Studio in Oakland to record with the formidable Greg Wilkinson. We'll be tracking songs for an upcoming 7" on Hesitation Wound Records. We're really excited about this record and getting to work with our pals at HWR. If everything goes according to plan the 7" will be ready and available by the end of March for our West Coast tour.
